A second guest has died at Walt Disney World Resort in Florida, less than a mile from where a Disney superfan tragically took her own life just days earlier.

Authorities say emergency responders were called to Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground shortly after 7:30 a.m. on Tuesday following reports of a “person down,” according to the Orange County Sheriff’s Office (OCSO).
“A man in his 60s experienced a medical episode and was transported to a local hospital, where he later died. There are no signs of foul play,” an OCSO spokesperson confirmed.
The incident occurred in the 1500 loop, known as Cottontail Curl, one of several scenic trails at Fort Wilderness featuring RV sites, cabins, and wooded pathways. While the resort’s rustic design offers privacy and tranquility, some sections are more secluded and less visible to staff than hotel corridors.

This marks the second reported death at Walt Disney World in one week.
Just days prior, 31-year-old Summer Equitz, a Disney enthusiast from Naperville, Illinois, died by suicide at Disney’s Contemporary Resort. Authorities said she suffered multiple blunt impact injuries, clarifying that she was not struck by the monorail as some early reports claimed.
Equitz had reportedly arrived at the resort that same day without notifying her family. In a social media post from late 2024, she had shared news of her pregnancy — though it remains unclear whether she gave birth before her death.
Walt Disney World Resort has not yet issued an official statement regarding either incident.
